1. Start with two minutes.

If you're in a pickle trying to carve out journaling time, start with a bite-sized two minutes. Lettuce grab your notebook and let your thoughts simmer for just that short duration. If you find yourself hungry for more after those two minutes, go ahead and ketchup on your writing!

2. Build up over time.

Over thyme, allocate a little more time—at yeast 5 to 10 minutes—for your daily journaling practice. This allows you to ketchup with the journal prompts with care and lettuce work towards achieving your goals.

3. Set aside a regular time to journal.

No matter if you "toast" to morning journaling or prefer to "meat" your thoughts in the evening, timing isn't the main ingredient. What's truly "grape" is dedicating a specific "thyme" each day to consistently "whisk" your thoughts onto the page.

4. Practice self compassion.

It’s perfectly fine to take a day off from your journaling “platter”! Allow yourself some space to let things “simmer” if you miss a day. However, it’s also important to “digest” the notion that we sometimes “spice” away from the things we truly “knead.”

5. Keep your journal with you.

Keep your journal close at hand, like a trusty kitchen utensil, so you can easily whisk it out whenever inspiration strikes and you're ready to spill the beans on your thoughts.
